Director at the RTI International-University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Evidence-based Practice Center (RTI-UNC EPC)
Meera Viswanathan is the Director of the RTI International–University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Evidence-based Practice Center (RTI-UNC-EPC), which conducts evidence synthesis on a wide range of health-related topics, including drugs, devices, procedures and health services. She is a leading expert in systematic review methodologies and standards.
Viswanathan has employed her expertise in research design in preparing evidence-based reports for the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI), Office of Population Affairs, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Assistant Secretary of Planning and Evaluation (ASPE). She also conducted work for the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, CDC and private foundation projects.
Viswanathan holds a Ph.D. in Planning from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill; an M.A. in Geography from Jawaharlal Nehru University, India; and a B.A. in Geography from the University of Delhi, India.
