Shannon Kugley, MLIS, is a public health researcher with over 20 years of experience adapting evidence synthesis methodologies to meet diverse research needs. She excels at tailoring systematic review approaches to deliver timely, focused evidence products across a broad spectrum of healthcare topics, from youth homelessness and behavioral health to preventive care and pathogen surveillance.

Ms. Kugley brings expertise in developing flexible, fit-for-purpose review methodologies that maintain scientific rigor while meeting specific stakeholder needs and timelines. Her technical capabilities span advanced literature searching, data extraction, reference management software, and systematic review tools, complemented by extensive experience in study design, human subjects’ protection, and stakeholder engagement. She is interested in innovative approaches to streamline reviews and possesses key insights into prompt engineering and best practice for leveraging LLMs to augment labor-intensive systematic review processes, specifically data extraction.
